
Join Us in Ruse: 4th European Aquaphotomics Conference 2026
The 4th European Aquaphotomics Conference will take place from 23 to 26 September 2026 at the Kaneff Centre, University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev,” in Ruse, Bulgaria.
Organized by the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” in cooperation with the International Aquaphotomics Society, the conference will bring together scientists, scholars, students, and industry partners from around the world. It is a space to share new research, exchange ideas, and build the collaborations that will shape the future of aquaphotomics and related disciplines.

Call for papers
Researchers are invited to submit original papers for presentation at the conference. Contributions will be peer reviewed by the programme committee and may be delivered as oral, virtual, or poster presentations.
The conference welcomes work across aquaphotomics, spectroscopy, and related fields, including:
- Spectroscopy and data analysis
- Cell and microbiology
- Food and agriculture
- Pharmacology, cosmetics, and medicine
- Light, sound, and biomodulation
- Environmental monitoring
- Coherent states, water, mind, and consciousness
- Biology and quantum electrodynamics
- Artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, and biotechnology
Submitted manuscripts should contain at least five pages. At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to attend, and each author may submit up to two articles. Papers that meet the required quality criteria are intended for inclusion in Web of Conferences and indexing in Scopus.
Full-paper submission deadline: 10 August 2026
The organizers may consider late submissions individually; please contact the organizing committee to discuss an extension.
Four days of science, learning, and connection
The programme opens on Wednesday 23 September with registration, the opening ceremony, a plenary lecture, and an Aquaphotomics School session, followed by a cocktail reception. Across the following days, participants can expect scientific sessions, poster discussions, coffee breaks, and opportunities to connect with colleagues.
The social programme includes a tour of Ruse city centre on Thursday and the official conference dinner on Friday. On Saturday, after the closing ceremony, participants may join an optional visit to the historic city of Veliko Tarnovo.

Registration includes access to scientific sessions, conference materials and proceedings, coffee breaks and refreshments, the welcome reception, the conference dinner, a certificate of participation, and publication of one paper in the conference proceedings.
