Install it

  1. Run the file you just downloaded.
  2. Windows will very likely show a blue warning screen. This is expected. See the next section for exactly what to click.
  3. Follow the installer through. It takes under a minute.
  4. Start AquaGrammar Preview from the Start menu.

You will not be asked for an administrator password. AquaGrammar installs into your own user profile rather than Program Files, so it works on a managed or institutional laptop where you cannot elevate.

"Windows protected your PC" — what to do

On first run you will probably see a blue box headed Windows protected your PC, mentioning Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.

To continue:

  1. Select More info — a small link in the message body. It is easy to miss, because the Don't run button is the prominent one.
  2. Select Run anyway, which appears once you have selected More info.

Why this happens. SmartScreen warns about programs it has not yet seen downloaded many times before. It is a reputation check, not a virus scan — a brand-new release from a small publisher triggers it as a matter of course, and the warning fades as more people install it.

How to be sure you have the right file. Download only from this page, at aquaphotomics.com/software/aquagrammar/. If you want to verify the file independently, compare its SHA-256 checksum against the value published above. In PowerShell:

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\<filename>"

If your organisation blocks unrecognised installers entirely, your IT team can allow this one, or you can ask us for details at aquagrammar@aquaphotomics.com.

Uninstall

Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find AquaGrammar Preview, and choose Uninstall. AquaGrammar does not save projects, so removing it leaves nothing behind but the files you exported yourself.

Next
